After morning swim and lunch, we attended a "Block Party" organized by the resident network. This is the first party they had organized since we moved in 8 years ago. Hub was a volunteer.
When we arrived, there were many residents old and young, sitting at the void deck.
There were:
- ice-cream cart
- Neighbourhood Police sharing about scams, SGSecure
- Clean & Green Singapore (CGS) having a card game about mosquito prevention
- Singapore Floor Curling. This was actually quite fun. How to play? Floor Curling is played on mats placed on the floor. The player needs to have one knee on the floor and slides the wheeled stones close to the center target. The closer it is to the target, the player wins. It was so easy to play, even a toddler and a 70+ year old grandma (played with a stick, sitting on a chair) could play it. The best part was the laughter echoing at the void deck.
Mr Murali gave a speech. The neighbours got to know one another more...
In the afternoon, we quickly sent Bray and Bev to their classes. This is Bev's first class. For the good learning, she received a token for the claw machine. She was gleaming with happiness as she waited for her turn. But she did not win anything. Better luck next time.
We brought the children for dinner and played at the JEMS water playground. As Bray's feet were wet, he slipped on the trampoline, he was still smiling afterwards.
After all the fun, we went to Timezone.
That was all in a day.
The next day, we went to meet Uncle A at his shoplot. We loved the decoration - he's been collecting old antiques. We had Thai food nearby. For dessert, we had Ms Durian's durian creme puffs (tastes best when taken out of the freezer, it tasted like durian ice cream yummm....).
We bought some for Ah Gor. Ah Gor had a crack on his leg bone after he slipped. He can't really go out, so we decided to visit him at his home. Bray was trying out the leg fracture walking boot and crutches. He loved the funny look. I recalled Bro Max was also the same when he was about Bray's age. Bro Max wrapped his whole self with toilet paper and looked like an injured person at the emergency ward. Haha.
The children went for a swim in the pool. They made water fountains from blocking the jacuzzi hole. Children will be children.
