Lovebook

'It's so hard to find love these days. I can't find someone who would love me enough to make me fall in love with her.' Words uttered by a friend of mine recently.

Loving someone is becoming ever so difficult because it is easier to bring out faults and flaws in others. Rejection only requires one big 'NO' but in loving someone, you have to accept their all, their complete package. With the growing population, we tend to think there is sure someone perfect out there to fit into our description of 'THE PERFECT GUY/GIRL'. This pursuit for the right one is seemingly endless.

Love doesn't happen by chance. No. We are not living a fairytale from Disney. No prince charming on a white horse will come to your rescue and ask for your hand in marriage at first glance. Love grows slowly from a seedling into a mighty oak tree. It requires time, nurture and care.

Love is about giving without asking any in return. Don't fear if your love is not reciprocated. When you express your emotions towards that someone you find the liking, you have nothing to lose. You might be surprised to find out the person might also feel the same way towards you. Love like there's no tomorrow.

Cheating partner

What if on one fine day you found a hidden secret letter in one of his/her drawers. It is from your beloved partner. You curiously open the letter to read its contents thinking it must be for you. Your partner was too shy to send this letter, or so you thought. To your dismay, it has another receiver's name on it.

'To my dearest .........................................

..................................................................

..................................................................

signed with lots of love and kisses '

Before you knew it, you are face to face with a cheating partner.

Apparently, there are signs to look for to spot a cheating partner. This checklist may vary with different people and relationships. But when you have ticks for at least 3 or more of these signs, then it's time to start being suspicious.

1. Your partner acts differently around you.
There is a sudden flush of affection or he completely ignores you. This means that he has a change in life experience (eg stress at work, got a promotion, hiding secrets from you).

2. Your partner gets defensive when questioned.
He refuses to answer your questions and explodes in a rage saying you are nagging him or do not give him some space to breathe. This gives him an excuse to back away from giving you a valid answer.

3. Your partner hides relationships from you.
There are countless of emails, letters and smses from an anonymous person whom your partner never find time to mention or introduce to you. Yes couples do not share the same friends but they are often aware of their partner's acquaintances. So if there is anyone your partner is trying to hide from you, that might be the person you are on the look out for.

4. Your partner has a cheating history
He did it before, he can do it again. Now that he has past experiences, he's probably better off at hiding it from you.

5. Trust your instinct
If you got a feeling that something is wrong, do not let it slide by you. Pay attention to it.

4 Happy Seasons in one place

Have you experienced 4 different seasons in Malaysia? Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (4 seasons in 1 place) ; 365 days a year. Curious to know? The only way to find out is to travel to the 4 Happy Seasons Restaurant in Wangsa Maju.

The restaurant is separated into 4 different interiors designs; each representing one season. I've always loved the winter so I chose to dined in this part of the restaurant. The blue and white lights brought about the cool, wintry feel to the room. The temperature was lowered to icy cold. I was shivering yet I did not budge from my seat. How often do you get such a weather in HOT HUMID Malaysia?

I........ Looo..ve..... I.....t *shivering voice*

That's still not the best experience in the restaurant. The menu offers a broad selection of dishes . The dishes are recommended according to the seasons. Warm food (eg. soups, volcano rice, tomyam) are served in winter section. I, however, tried a variety of food from different seasons in the menu. The food were reasonably priced. Food are served at large portions so it is definitely not advisable to order too many dishes at once. A big mistake I made by ordering too much.... I had to force my portion down my tiny tummy. Still... it was well worth it.

Ferringhi's Best

Ferringhi Garden Restaurant in Penang is the place to look forward to for a posh dining experience. It is a paradise for food lovers with difficult-to-please-taste buds. Located 5 minutes away from the beach, the quiet settings of the restaurant with panoramic garden view creates a romantic atmosphere suitable for all lovebirds. I have dined in this place for the third time now and it still managed to catch my breathe away. The restaurant serves a myriad of ala-carte local to western cuisine.

Each beautifully garnished food platter are served by extremely friendly waitresses. They always bring a smile to the table. Even when using the toilet, I couldn't resist but to give a happy grin. You'd see why... *check the signs displayed*. :)

After a good dinner, I'd take a stroll at the Ferringhi Night Market near here, 10 minutes walking distance away. The Ferringhi Night Market consists of stalls lining alongside the main road, stretching a distant as long as 1 km. Souveniers, beach clothes, bags, local food are some of the things found in the night market. Everything is sold at a lower price *only if you know how to get a good bargain* So imagine why I never get bored of walking and shopping in this part of town.

Trick-or-Treat

T R I C K -or- T R E A T?

Halloween was also celebrated in Genting Highlands on the 31st of October. Youngsters dressed in weird costumes with thick bloody make-ups were marching into the biggest, most happening costume party here. They disguised themselves as werewolves, vampires, walking skeletons, witches and many other scary Halloween characters.

The haunted house was also packed with people waiting to be frightened by fake GHOSTS. Of course, there were some rumours of people claiming they had met with REAL spirits in Genting. Perhaps what they claim is true...

Since it's another main tradition of Halloween to share ghost stories, now I am going to share one real story.
This happen to a friend of mine, KK. He has the ability to see these supernatural beings from a very young age.

'....... On one camping night, it was late and the scouts were still setting up the station games for the following day. KK and another junior scout was tying a rope to a tree trunk for a game called 'monkey's crawl'. He suddenly felt a presence. And as he looked up on the tree, he saw a woman dressed in a long bright RED dress standing steadily upon a small, thin branch. The woman's face was covered with her long silky hair. He didn't want to scare his friend by telling him what he saw. So he just told the scout to return to the headquaters with him. But as he turned around to make a haste back, there she was..... STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM.... face to face.... He had the scare of his life. He ran as fast as he could. He had forgotten about his friend. Feeling something amiss, the junior scout ran after him. They didn't return to their tent that night. KK saw that woman in red floating in and out of each tent. These tents were full of sleeping scouts, unaware of the whole horrible events that happened that night. KK did not revealed the story... not until the camp was well over.

I WAS IN THAT CAMP TOO.... Imagine how my blood turned cold when I listened to the story told by KK days after camp.'

My hands start to shiver as I write this blog alone tonight.... *yikes.. this is so creepy*

Love Jo.
